Dr. Lemelman is a board-certified plastic surgeon. He graduated from the Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency Program at The University of Chicago Medical Center — a long-established powerhouse training hospital, in one of the most selective fields of medicine. He then completed a fellowship dedicated to Craniofacial Plastic Surgery at one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the country, Nationwide Children's Hospital, The Ohio State University, under the instruction of some of the most well-respected surgeons in the country.

Prior to residency, he completed a combined Bachelor of Science and Medical Doctor (MD) program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. This route of rigorous education is commonly known as the "baby doc" pathway, i.e. the Doogie Howser track. His first taste of plastic surgery came from experience in the operating theaters of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where he assisted in burn and cleft reconstructions for children and adults as a young medical student.

Throughout his career, Dr. Lemelman has performed thousands of surgeries and is recognized for his meticulous technique, natural results, and commitment to patient safety. His approach is relaxed, meditative, detailed, and always centered on what is right for each patient.

Dr. Lemelman is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and a sought-after speaker at regional and national plastic surgery conferences. Patients travel from across the country to be treated by a surgeon who combines elite academic training with a genuine, unhurried bedside manner. Additionally, he advises other surgeons on novel techniques in the operating room, as well as how to grow a patient-centered practice in an ever-changing healthcare world where patients often find themselves on the periphery.
