About Blepharoplasty

Can blepharoplasty make me less tired?
The most common complaint prior to eyelid lift and lower eyelid blepharoplasty is that patients look and feel tired all the time. While surgery can improve your appearance and make you feel more confident, surgery won't make up for lack of sleep. It is recommended that you sleep at least 8 hours per day. A little coffee never hurt either.
Will the scars be visible?
Incisions are placed in the natural crease of the upper eyelid and just below the lower lash line, making scars virtually invisible once healed. Most patients find the scars fade to near-imperceptible lines within a few months.
Can blepharoplasty be covered by insurance?
Upper eyelid surgery may be covered by insurance when drooping skin significantly obstructs peripheral vision. Dr. Lemelman can provide documentation to support an insurance claim if appropriate.
How long do the results last?
Blepharoplasty results are long-lasting — most patients enjoy their outcome for 10 or more years. While the procedure does not stop the aging process, the improvement is durable and patients rarely require a repeat procedure.
